Shreya Shandilya brought pride and glory to her family by becoming a female pilot at the age of 23. She is also the first female pilot in her district. Her accomplishments are a testament to the fact that with passion and motivation, one can fulfil any dream. Shreya Shandilya has joined Indigo Airlines as a Junior First Officer (JFO). She will be operating Indigo Airbus-320 aircraft in India and abroad. She has fulfilled her dream by completing her five-year training with utmost dedication.

She obtained her Commercial Pilot License (CPL) in 2019 after she finished her 200 hours of training from Madhya Pradesh Flying Club in Indore. Later, she continued her training as a trainee pilot with Indigo Airlines. Her passion and dedication coupled with her excellent performance and yearning to learn more earned her an opportunity to get a simulator training by UAE’s Etihad Airways.

Shreya Shandilya comes from a humble family background. Her father, Awadhesh Shandilya runs a photocopy shop. Shreya dreamed of becoming a pilot since her childhood. Her parents did not leave any stone unturned to fulfil the dreams of their daughter. Her father mentioned that when he needed money for his daughter’s fees for her studies, he stopped the construction of his house. When he needed more money, he took a loan. He had complete faith in his daughter and believed that she would be able to achieve great heights.

Reminiscing about her childhood days, her father shared that in her childhood, Shreya used to run to the roof upon hearing the sound of the plane and would try to figure out the route of the plane. Captain Shreya Shandilya said that she had decided right in her childhood that she would become a pilot when she grew up. She further added that her parents worked very hard to fulfil her dream, and it is because of them that she has reached this position today.
