McDonald’s Inspired MG Comet EV ‘Happy Meal’ Gets Stunning Red And Yellow Paint Scheme

MG Comet EV has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle has been garnering a lot of attention in the country due to its compact size. Apart from this, the car offers several other unique features such as minimalistic interiors and several unique paint schemes. Emphasizing on this feature, a picture of the MG Comet EV in a quirky yellow and red color scheme was shared on social media. To be specific, the unique paint job was done on the Chinese variant of the vehicle sold alongside the Wuling Air EV in other markets.

The pictures of the MG Comet EV show the top end of the electric vehicle painted in yellow. In detail, all the pillars of the car including the roof are painted bright yellow while the lower half of the EV gets a striking look at the bumper, two doors and the rear of the car. The colour red.

As the picture went viral on social media, many social users compared the electric vehicle to McDonald’s “Winnie the Pooh” and “Happy Meal”. The social media account also shared pictures of the EV placed in the setup of the cartoon character’s house.


MG Comet EV is sold in India in three variants, Pace, Play and Plus. Of these, the cost of the most expensive variant is Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). With 12-inch steel wheels, the EV stands at three meters in length, 1,640 mm in height and 1,505 mm in width.


The Comet EV has an ARAI-certified range of 230km with a 17.3kWh battery. Using the 3.3kW onboard charger provided by MG, the battery can be fully charged in seven hours. However, it does not support DC rapid charging. A single electric motor on the front axle produces 42 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque.

The Comet gets manual AC controls, keyless entry, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, among other features. ABS, EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a reverse camera and sensors, and dual front airbags are among the safety features.
