MCD Polls: Can’t Find Your Voter ID? Confused About Aadhaar Card? List of Documents You Need to Vote

Top campaigners including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Hardeep Singh Puri will reach out to voters through public meetings and road shows. Voting for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections will be held on Sunday and the counting of votes will take place on December 7.

The BJP has ruled the MCD for 15 years and is seeking to come to power for the fourth time. Meanwhile, AAP attacked the BJP on the issue of waste management during its tenure and said that the saffron party has given three mountains of garbage to Delhi.

The AAP has claimed that it will topple the BJP, with its convenor Kejriwal claiming victory in 200 of the 250 wards in the MCD. This will be the first municipal body election in the national capital after the delimitation of wards. Both the BJP and the AAP have fielded 250 candidates, while the Congress will contest only 247 seats.

Don’t have voter card? In case you do not have voter ID card, you can carry a valid photo ID such as Passport, Driving License, State Government or Central Government Service ID Card, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passbook with photo issued by Bank. OR Post Office, MGNREGA Job Card, Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR, Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour, Official ID Card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs, ETS, Pension documents with photograph, address proof Along with the photo of the posts issued by the Address Card Department.

How Voter ID Card Changed: Voter ID cards were earlier black and white but now they have passport size photograph, date of birth and address. It also bears a serial number, a hologram sticker and the stamped signature of the issuing authority. It can be used as a general identity, address and age proof for various purposes.

Dry days in Delhi: Delhi’s Excise Department announced that there will be a ban on the sale of liquor in the national capital for three days from Friday evening. The three-day ban will be in force from the end of the election campaign till the end of polling. When the counting of votes will take place on December 7, there will be a ban on the sale of liquor again.
