MCD Polls: All Delhi Government Schools to Remain Shut on December 3 & 5

All MCD schools will remain closed on December 3 and December 5 as well.

All Delhi government schools will remain closed on December 3 in view of the preparations for the municipal elections. education said on Friday.

Voting for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections will be held on December 4.

In a circular, the Directorate of Education (DOE) said, “Heads of all government schools of the Directorate of Education are informed that December 3 (Saturday) is to be declared a holiday for schools due to poll preparations for Delhi MCD Elections 2022.” ,

“Heads of schools are directed to disseminate this information among students, staff members, SMC members and parents,” it said.

All MCD schools will remain closed on December 3 and December 5 as well.

In a notice, the MCD said, keeping in view the long hours of duty, the day following the polling day should also be considered as “period on election duty”.

It said that with nearly 90 per cent of the school staff deployed on election duty, all MCD school heads are directed to close the schools for students on December 5.

However, according to the notice and a senior MCD official, the available teachers will conduct online classes on December 5.
