MCC Warns NEET UG Aspirants Against Fake Notice On Special Counselling Round

The fake circular states that the Medical Counseling Committee has been receiving representations from several states regarding the extension of the last date for NEET UG counselling, due to which the MCC has decided to do so.

medical board India (MCC) has warned candidates against a fake notice regarding the extension of deadline for the special stray vacancy round for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) courses. The fake notice suggested that the last date to apply for admission against NEET UG Special Stray Vacancy Round for All India MBBS and BDS had been extended till January 20.

The fake circular also mentions that the Medical Advisory Committee has been receiving representations from several states regarding the extension of the last date, due to which the MCC decided to do so.

“It has come to the notice of MCC and MoHFW that a fake notice dated 10.01.2023 purportedly issued by MCC is being circulated in social media. In this regard, it is noted that no such notice has been issued by MCC or DGHS,” the MCC said in its latest order.

MCC also warned the students not to take cognizance of such fake letters and notices and to refrain from sharing fake information in other groups. The committee also suggested that the candidates should file a complaint with the cyber crime cell or file an FIR on the matter.

MCC suggested that students refer to the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) only for accurate and latest information on NEET UG exam and counseling schedule.

NEET UG Special Stray Vacancy Round is a special counseling round for those students who were not allotted MBBS/BDS seats in the routine counseling process of the exam. Candidates who were not offered a seat in any medical or dental college in India can apply for this round.

The Special Stray Vacancy counseling round has already been conducted by MCC on December 29, 2022 and the last date for admission to MBBS course for All India counseling as well as State counseling was December 29, 2022.

Meanwhile, a special stay vacancy round is being conducted by the National Medical Commission for NEET PG 2022 and admission to PG courses offered through NEET 2022. The last date for admission in this special round is January 14, 2023.
