The commission has issued a letter to the Punjab government saying that it has approved the college affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. FaridkotOn Sunday, Alok Shekhar, Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Education and Research said. Shekhar said that all the review reports of the institute have been issued after it was found to be of high standards.
In view of the acceptance of 100 MBBS seats, the Commission has decided to obtain necessary documents for issue of permission letter for increase in seats for the academic year 2021-22.
According to the notification, the condition is that in terms of facilities of teaching and non-teaching staff, building, equipment and hospital in the college, all the infrastructural facilities should be made available as per the rules of the commission. No student should be admitted to the courses unless formally approved by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board.
The college should provide bank guarantee in favor of the Commission, Delhi against establishment of new medical colleges with the number of MBBS seats (100/50) for five years or till the course is recognized, whichever is later, Nationalized to be valid. / Scheduled Banks.
However, the medical colleges governed by the State Government are required to submit only an undertaking to provide funds in their budget till the facilities are fully provided as per the time bound schedule indicated by them.
