Easter 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted people on Easter and hoped that the special occasion would deepen the spirit of harmony in the society. PM Modi also remembered the holy thoughts of Lord Jesus Christ on the occasion of Easter.

Easter is celebrated by Christians around the world in recognition of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He further wished that the occasion inspires people to serve the society and help in empowering the downtrodden. “Happy Easter! May this special occasion deepen the spirit of harmony in our society. May it inspire people to serve society and help empower the downtrodden. We remember the holy thoughts of Jesus Christ on this day.

President Draupadi Murmu also remembered the people on the occasion of Easter and the message of love and forgiveness given by Jesus by sacrificing his life for truth and justice. He further said that Easter is a symbol of love and compassion.

Easter prayer in churches at midnight

Easter prayers were held at midnight in various churches across the country. Many people gathered in different churches across the country to offer midnight prayers. Easter services were held at Syro-Malabar Church in Kochi, Sacred Heart Cathedral in Delhi and others. Devotees also light lamps during worship. They were seen inside churches by candlelight. The cathedral church was decked up with lights that gave the impression as if the entire sacred structure was ablaze with orange and red hues.

Cardinal George Alencherry, head of the Syro-Malabar Church, led the mass at midnight.
