Matt Reeves’ new trailer for ‘The Batman’ drops on 2021 DC fandom

Los Angeles: Filmmaker Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” has taken the wraps off the 2021 DC fandom as he unveiled an explosive and action-packed trailer for the Robert Pattinson-starrer superhero film. The online fan event was a packed affair with DC providing glimpses of many. “Black Adam”, “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “Peacemaker” series.

The new trailer provides more details about the film’s story, Pattinson’s Batman, Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman, and several other major characters. It promises a dark and extraordinarily violent iteration of the iconic superhero, previously played by the likes of Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christina Bell and Ben Affleck.

The trailer gives a glimpse of Paul Dano’s The Riddler, although the character’s face was kept hidden. There were several moments when Pattinson was seen shaking hands with his opponents, and in one scene, he walks into a room with constant shots fired.

Pattinson and Kravitz joined Reeves for a panel discussion before the trailer was released. Pattinson said this version of the Caped Crusader is a man who is “a little out of control”.

“He doesn’t have as much control over his personality, as it’s not so obvious when he’s Batman and when he’s Bruce… In other kinds of iterations, he knows exactly what he’s doing. when he is putting on the cowl,” said the actor. Kravitz said she wanted to introduce a “real human” to Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman.

“I understand the seriousness of a character like this and what he means to so many people, but what really felt important was to really focus on the story we’re telling in this moment, And try to make a real human being.” I don’t, I don’t want that to be an idea. I want him to be a real human being in a real situation in a real city trying to react and react to his pain. So I really focused on this particular story at this special moment in this woman’s life.”

Reeves said that the film differs significantly from the character’s other origin stories. “We saw a lot of origin stories. One place we didn’t go that way (Frank Miller comic) does ‘Year One,'” he said.

“The Batman” will also star Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Barry Keoghan, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell. The film will release in the US on March 4, 2022.
