Maruti Suzuki is all set to increase its market share even more with the launch of new cars planned for the year 2022. These car launches have everything from spec and span models to facelifts and new generation old cars. Apart from the new Celerio (already in all the news) and the facelifted Baleno, several new SUVs from Maruti Suzuki are ready to hit the market.
To make a noteworthy entry into the premium compact segment, the Indo-Japanese manufacturers plan to bring in three big SUV contenders. First the new avatar of the Brezza, followed by the sub-4-metre SUV known as the ‘YTB’, as well as the most awaited Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Eventually, the S-cross will be replaced by a mid-size SUV. Here are all the details of the SUV that you need to keep an eye on in 2022:
Maruti Suzuki Breeze
The first SUV to hit the market will be the new generation minus ‘Vitara’ of the Vitara Brezza, and we say this because the name of the car will be Brezza. Being the successor to the old car, it is getting many upgrades along with the interiors and exteriors. Keeping in mind the spy shots on the internet, the designs have been upgraded to give a more premium look with an electric sunroof, a bigger infotainment screen, telematics system, upgrades among other things.
Considering the above upgrades, the mechanics under the hood don’t resonate with the same. Since it gets the same mechanics under the hood with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and is built on the Global C platform. The only change is that you will now have a choice of manual and automatic gearboxes with the “smart hybrid” system.
Maruti Suzuki YTB
The launch of YTB is most likely to be scheduled after the launch of Brezza. It is an SUV based on the Baleno and, as per reports, will most likely have Maruti’s 1.2-litre petrol engine as its power source. This is the same engine that should have been tuned to give better power output to the Baleno with mild-hybrid technology.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Jimny is one of the most awaited cars in the Indian market. It is one of the off-roaders already being sold in the European market under the brand name of Suzuki, which is finally slated to hit the Indian market in 2022.
The Indian variant will have a 5-door variant with a 1.5L petrol engine as the power source, though there is a possibility that a turbo petrol engine could power it as per some reports. In the Indian market, the Jimny will compete with rivals like Force Gurkha and Mahindra Thar.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross
The S-Cross has not been able to perform well in the market as expected by its manufacturers. Hence, reports suggest that an all-new mid-size SUV will replace it. This new model is being developed by the team-effort of Toyota and Maruti-Suzuki, which will later be sold with both their badges. An electrified 1.5L petrol engine powers it.
