Maruti Suzuki Jimny Receives Equal Interest For Manual, Auto Trims From Buyers

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is all set to knock on our doors as the launch is round the corner. The company recently revealed that it has received over 30,000 bookings for the compact off-roader. Interestingly, buyers are showing an even split between the automatic and manual variants of the car. For starters, the Jimny is available with both manual and automatic transmissions – 5-speed MT and 4-speed AT. The Jimny is the quintessential Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha rival, however, it is expected to go up against a number of compact SUVs due to its positioning in the Indian market.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Fuel efficiency

According to a report in Autocar, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will return a mileage of 16.94 kmpl in the manual trim, while the fuel efficiency of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the automatic trim is 16.39 kmpl. Interestingly, there is not much difference in the fuel efficiency of the SUV with MT or AT gearbox options.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Jimny: Specs

As revealed earlier, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will get both 5-speed MT and 4-speed AT gearbox options. However, there is only a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine option that produces 104.8 PS of peak power output and 134.2 Nm of peak torque. Also, the Jimny’s off-road characteristics are very strong as it gets a standard AWD system in the form of Suzuki AllGrip technology.

2023 Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door: Dimensions

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is compact in size, and measures 3,985 mm long, 1,645 mm wide and 1,720 mm tall. The wheelbase is 2,590 mm long and it has a ground clearance of 210 mm. Boot space on the Jimny is 208 litres, but its square shape means it can easily swallow a few suitcases. Also, the Jimny is a light-footed vehicle, tipping the scales at just 1,200 kg.
