The latest car is a rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Crysta. This means that the Invicto is basically the same car as the Innova Crysta, except that it is being sold under the Maruti Suzuki brand. Maruti Invicto has been launched with strong hybrid technology. The new MPV will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine along with an electric motor. It will come with E-CVT transmission. The Invicto is the first car from Maruti to come with a full hybrid system and automatic transmission. It will also have an electric only mode.

On the other hand, the Toyota Highcross offers petrol and strong hybrid technology-based petrol engine options. It is powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine as the Invicto. The hybrid variant comes with an e-CVT e-drive transmission. The Highcross also gets a non-hybrid 2.0-litre petrol engine that comes mated to a CVT.

The Maruti Invicto price ranges from Rs 24.79 Lakh to Rs 28.42 Lakh, ex-showroom. Whereas, the ex-showroom price of Toyota Innova Highcross starts from Rs. 18.55 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 29.99 lakhs. It is to be noted that the Invicto only offers the strong hybrid engine option, while the Highcross has a petrol engine option as well.

The Invicto is priced significantly higher without the petrol engine option. At the same time, compared to the top-spec variant of the Highcross, its top variant is cheaper by Rs 1.57 lakh. However, even in the top model of the Invicto you will not get the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features that are available in the top-spec variant of the Highcross.

Mileage is an important factor to consider while buying a new car. Maruti Invicto is expected to give good mileage due to its hybrid technology. On the other hand, Toyota Highcross also offers good mileage with its hybrid and petrol engine options. Exact mileage figures of the Invicto are not available yet.
