Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross debut likely at 2023 Auto Expo: What to expect – Times of India

After being spotted testing on Indian roads, Maruti Suzuki is likely to reveal its Baleno Cross in India at 2023 Auto Expo. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross might mark its global debut in February 2023.
According to various media reports, the 2023 Baleno Cross will likely make use of the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K12C Dualjet petrol engine as used by the current-gen Baleno, Swift and Wagon R. The engine generates 90 bhp power and 113 Nm torque. It is coupled with a five-speed manual or AMT unit.
The second engine option is expected to be a 1.5-litre engine that is currently doing duty on the 2022 Ertiga and the newly-unveiled Grand Vitara. Maruti Suzuki might not offer an All-Grip AWD system in the upcoming Baleno Cross.
According to recent spy shots, the 2023 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross will feature a redesigned front fascia with a bigger front grille, and split headlamps with signature three-block LED DRLs. The test mule seems to have black-coloured alloy wheels and squared-off wheel arches.
The rear profile of the upcoming Baleno Cross is flanked by a boot-lid integrated spoiler, raked windshield and a sturdy bumper. Based on the Futuro-e Concept showcased in the 2022 Auto Expo, the upcoming Baleno Cross will feature a sloping roofline and body cladding all around.
Dimensionally, the Baleno Cross will be similar to the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross will compete against the likes of Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Honda WR-V in the Indian market upon launch.
