Manu Bhaker will stay away from social media till the end of Olympics

Teenage shooter Manu Bhaker on Tuesday decided to switch off social media by the end of the Tokyo Olympics to focus on her preparation and performance at the Games starting July 23. 19-year-old Bhaker is currently training in Croatia along with others. Members of the Olympic-bound Indian team participating in the ISSF World Cup here. The shooters will fly directly to Tokyo before the Games.

“As I enter the final stages of preparation for the Tokyo Olympics, I’m going to be off social media until the end of the Olympics,” she tweeted. “I will need your love, blessings and support to make our country proud. See you all soon!”

In the ongoing ISSF World Cup, Bhaker along with Saurabh Chaudhary won the 10m Air Pistol mixed team silver medal. However, she finished seventh in the 25m pistol event, which was won by another Olympic shooter, Rahi Sarnobat.

Bhaker won a silver in the 10m air pistol individual event at the New Delhi World Cup in March and won the 10m air pistol mixed team gold with Chaudhary.
