‘Manjulika on Metro’: Girl Dressed as Bhool Bhulaiyaa Character Scares Passengers, Netizens Call for Action

In a bizarre incident on Noida’s Aqua Line that connects Noida to Greater Noida, a girl dressed as a film character boarded a metro train. The video is being shared widely on social media platforms, especially on Twitter. As can be seen in the video, a girl is dressed as ‘Manjulika’, an iconic character played by Vidya Balan in Akshay Kumar starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The girl is seen enacting the character while trying to scare the commuters in a metro compartment. In one instance, the girl approaches a boy sitting in the corner seat with his headphones on, and pushes him away from the seat, only to sit in the same spot.

It is not yet clear why the girl was dressed like this. Several Twitter users suggested that she was creating an Instagram reel on the subway, and hence playing the popular character. The video has since received mixed reactions from netizens, most of whom are not happy with the girl’s act.

Some have even tagged Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and some have tagged Noida Metro Rail Corporation to take action against the girl. Some are also taking the video in a light-hearted manner. This is not the only incident where someone has taken a metro ride in a unique way.

In fact, some videos on social media show a metro rider dressed in red, mimicking the characters of the popular Netflix show Money Heist. Both Manjulika and the Money Heist character impersonator were traveling in the same metro. This has left many netizens wondering if this was a promotional shoot or part of a larger skit on the Metro.

Incidents of fights are regularly seen in both Delhi and Noida Metro. There have also been reports of proposals, dance performances and skits in metro trains. In December 2022, a man traveled in the Delhi Metro wearing a yellow towel vest. The viral clip shows several passengers, mostly young women, burst into laughter as the man walked up and down the coach.
