Mangaluru: Mangaluru Police have arrested two people for blackmailing.
The accused have been identified as Ajwin CM (24) and his friend Hatijamma alias Safna (23).
City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar told reporters on Wednesday that the accused had attended a party at the complainant’s house at 8.30 pm on July 19.
The complainant was earlier working abroad.
The accused had mixed intoxicants in the liquor of the complainant.
When he came out, he was naked and the accused allegedly took pictures and videos of him. Besides, he is accused of stealing a ‘Navratna’ ring from the hand of the complainant and Rs 2.12 lakh from the almirah of his house.
The next day, when the complainant went to Azvin’s house and warned him to file a complaint against him, the accused initially asked him not to complain to the police and would return the amount the next day.
Later, he showed the videos and photographs taken by him and threatened to upload the pictures on social media if he approached the police.
Azvin threatened to register a case against the victim, saying that she had attempted to rape her sister.
A case was registered in this regard in the police station. Ullal The police station on 23 July and the accused were arrested on Tuesday. The police have recovered around Rs 70,000 and a mobile phone from them.
