Mangaluru Meaning: A man Leopard died in an accident near Kadab On the Subrahmanya-Uppinangadi highway. The incident came to light on Monday morning.
Panja range forest officer Manjunath N told TOI that the leopard probably died after being hit by a moving vehicle on Sunday night. On receiving information, a team of forest officials led by ACF Praveen Kumar Shetty visited the spot. The postmortem was done by the vet Dr Ajit and the report is awaited. A case has been registered, after which an inquiry will be conducted with the permission of the court.
Confirming the presence of leopards in the area, the official said that the vehicle which is suspected to have collided with the wild cat has not been identified.
