‘Man with the Scar’: Dr. Rajasekhar’s Shekhar to hit the theaters on Sankranti

Actor Dr Rajshekhar, who earned the title of Tollywood’s Angry Star with a string of successful films, will soon be back on the silver screen with his 91st film Shekhar. According to the reports, this film will be released on Makar Sankranti this year. However, no official announcement has been made by the makers yet. After completing the shoot in September 2021, the film’s team entered its post-production phase.

Helmed by debutant Lalit, the film is a Telugu remake of the 2018 Malayalam blockbuster crime and investigative thriller Joseph. Along with Rajasekhar, the upcoming Telugu remake stars Anu Sitara and Muskaan Khubchandani in lead roles. The film is jointly produced by MLV Satyanarayana, Venkat Srinivas B, and lead actors Rajasekhar’s daughters Shivani and Shivatmika under the banners of Lakshya Productions and Pegasus Cine Corp.

In December 2021, the makers unveiled the first look poster of the film, creating a positive buzz among fans.

The title of the film is Shekhar’s title “The Man with the Scar”. The film’s artwork is handled by Dattatreya, dialogues are penned by Lakshmi Bhupal, Mallikarjuna Nargani came on board to handle the cinematography, and the film’s music is composed by Anoop Rubens.

Rajasekhar climbed the hit track with Praveen Sattaru’s PSV Garudavega. The actor was last seen playing the lead role in Prashant Verma’s action thriller drama Kalki. Rajasekhar has high hopes from the film as Kalki was not successful as expected.

The actor’s 92nd film, Marmanuvu, directed by Venkatesh Maha, is also in the line. Back in March 2021, the actor released a poster to announce the same. In the poster, a skull can be seen wearing a red turban with a blue stone in the middle. Along with other filmmakers, the film has also been co-produced by his daughters. Meanwhile, Mickey J. Meyer is providing music for the film.
