Man killed in car crash in south, in 3rd traffic collision fatality of the day

A man died after two cars collided near Kibbutz Bror Hail in southern Israel on Thursday, medics said, the third death of the day on the roads.

In a statement on Thursday, the Magen David Adom Ambulance Service said paramedics found the 35-year-old man trapped in the vehicle with multiple serious injuries and were forced to declare him dead.

The MDA said emergency crews treated a man and a woman in their 20s for moderate injuries in a separate vehicle, then took them to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon.

Police said they have launched an investigation into the collision.

Earlier in the evening, a 35-year-old foreign worker died after being hit by a car in the southern town of Nativot, the MDA said.

An 80-year-old man died after being hit by a car in Jerusalem on Thursday afternoon.

According to the latest figures from the National Road Safety Authority, 167 people have died on Israel’s roads since the beginning of 2023.
