Man dies after being hit by actor Rajat Bedi’s car

A passer-by, who was injured in a collision with Bollywood actor Rajat Bedi’s car in suburban Andheri, died during treatment. The police gave this information on Wednesday. Following the death of the injured victim late Tuesday night, the DN Nagar police have added Section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code to the FIR registered against the actor, an official said.

He added that the actor has not been arrested yet.

“The accident victim Rajesh Boudh was declared brought dead at Cooper Hospital where he was undergoing treatment for the past two days,” the official said.

According to police, the incident took place on Monday evening near a temple in Andheri when the actor was on his way home.

The pedestrian, who was in an inebriated state, suddenly came to the middle of the road and collided with the actor’s car, before the actor could apply the brakes.

Police had said that the actor took the injured person to the nearby Cooper Hospital and then went to the DN Nagar police station where he informed the on-duty police officer about the incident.

Police had registered a case against the actor under sections 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous hurt endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code.

Bedi has acted in several films including “Koi… Mil Gaya” and “Partner” starring Hrithik Roshan. Salman Khan.
