He said that when some members of Vandana’s family came out after hearing noise outside their house, both the men made casteist remarks against the family saying that the team lost as there were too many Dalit players in it. There was also a heated argument between the family members and the two people involved in the incident, following which Vandana’s brother lodged a complaint, the official said.
A person, identified as Vijay Pal, has been arrested and booked under sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code and the SC-ST Act, the official said. He said that another person involved in the incident has not been arrested yet.
