Man appeared half-naked in Karnataka High Court hearing, got notice. Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: A division bench of the High Court headed by Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi on Tuesday directed issuance of notice to a person who had allegedly attended the hearing of a videoconferencing case in a semi-nude condition.
This incident happened during the hearing of petitions related to former minister in sex for job case. Ramesh Jarkiholik, Senior advocate Indira Jaising, appearing for the complainant, brought to the fore the conduct of the person who has been identified as Shridhar Bhati, brought to the notice of the Chief Justice and urged him to take strict action against Bhat.
She told the court that it is very disrespectful for a woman to see a man without clothes in the courtroom. “It looks like he is taking a bath in front of the court and in front of me,” Jaising said. He said he did not know who the person was.
However, the bench asked whether the person was a lawyer as they could not see him on the screen.
Meanwhile, another lawyer confirmed in the court that what Jaisingh had said was true and said that he too could see the man wearing the shorts.
Though the court staff tried to call him, the alleged criminal did not respond.
As soon as the hearing was over, Jaising again urged the court to take strict action against what was deemed to be contempt of court. The Chief Justice later directed the issue of notice to the person.
Jaising said that she would file a contempt petition seeking action against the person.
