Mamta’s friend, Congress leader said on UPA’s taunt

Days After West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC President Mamata Banerjee Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Thursday claimed in Panaji, “There is no UPA anymore”, claiming, “He is a friend. I have known him for 20-25 years. He has his own perspective. We have it. Would be great if the two could come together.”

Banerjee gave a statement after the meeting Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai.

Banerjee made two statements during her visit to Mumbai on 1 December. he said it would be easy to beat him BJPShould all regional parties come together? After meeting Pawar, he said, ‘What is UPA? There is no UPA” and also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and said “you can’t stay abroad most of the time”.

Shiv Sena, which is in coalition government with the NCP and Congress in Maharashtra, however, had a dim view on Banerjee’s statement. On Wednesday, senior Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut met both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, He said after their meetings that the Congress could work together in UP and Goa – both of which are due to go to the assembly elections in February, 2022.
