The Telugu remake of Malayalam film Kaakipada is going to be made soon. KS Rama Rao, who produced about twelve films with Chiranjeevi, has acquired the remake rights of the film for a huge amount. It was officially announced that Rama Rao’s company acquired the remake rights of Kaakipada. The Kaakipada director said that Chiranjeevi is looking forward to watch the Telugu version of the film Kaakipada.
The remake rights of the film have been bought for the biggest amount ever for a small budget film in Malayalam cinema. Written and directed by Shabi Chowghat, the film stars Sarath Kumar, Niranjan and Sujit Shankar in lead roles.
Sharing a post on Facebook, he wrote, ‘This is the beginning of something great. Let me share the amazing news that one of the leading producers of Telugu film industry, KS Rama Rao Sir (who produced 12 films with Chiranjeevi) has bought the foreign language remake rights of Kakipada. In Malayalam cinema, the rights to Kakkipada have been acquired by paying the highest remuneration for a short film. I am grateful to dear producer Shiji Valiyakath, friends from other productions, dear actors who supported this film and dear audience friends who helped this film become a huge hit.
Kaakipada was bankrolled by Sheji Valiyakam under the banner of SV Productions. Some of the other actors who have been roped in for the film include Aaradhya Ann, Manikandan Achari, James Ilya, Sajimon Parel, Vinod Sagar, Sinoj Varghese, Kutty Akhil, Surya Anil, Pradeep, Deepu Karunakaran, Shibulban and Mala Parvathy.
Kakipada tells the story of eight armed police officers who accompany a suspect brought in for evidence. Kakipada also throws light on the mental state of the policemen and the accused and their attitude towards the country. Kakipada is the movement of the criminal to the police from the investigation, unlike the usual stories where the criminal is arrested and taken into custody after the police investigation.
