yoga breaks in offices

Even before this, the Ministry of AYUSH had launched several campaigns to promote yoga. In November last year, the Ministry of AYUSH had written to all the departments of the government asking them to give ‘yoga breaks’ to the employees to relieve them of the stress of working in the office throughout the day.

The ministry believed that this break would relieve the fatigue of the employees and give them new energy to work. The Ministry of AYUSH has sent a letter to all ministries asking them to encourage employees to take ‘yoga breaks’. A ministry official said ‘Yoga Break’ was implemented for the first time in six major metro cities in January last year on a pilot project basis.

A break of five minutes was given to the employees to introduce them to the yoga asanas. The purpose of the short routine was to reduce work-related stress and make employees feel refreshed at work.
