Majority Of Adani Group Firms Tumble On Friday; Some Hit Lower Circuit Limits In Intra-Day Trade

New Delhi: Most of the Adani group companies remained weak on Friday amid an overall bearish trend in the stock market. The stock of Adani Transmission fell 5 per cent, Adani Green Energy 5 per cent, Adani Total Gas (5 per cent) and Adani Enterprises (4.98 per cent) on the BSE. Shares of Adani Power declined 4.98 per cent, NDTV 4.05 per cent and Adani Wilmar 3.35 per cent. However, Ambuja Cements gained 2.45 per cent, Adani Ports 1.24 per cent and ACC (0.03 per cent).

Shares of eight Adani group firms out of ten listed entities had ended in the negative territory on Thursday. Adani group firms had declined sharply on Wednesday, with all listed companies ending in the red. On Friday, the BSE Sensex fell 141.87 points or 0.24 per cent to close at 59,463.93. In the bearish trend, the BSE benchmark has fallen 1,855.58 points or 3 per cent since February 16.

Shares of Adani Group have hit the exchanges last month following allegations against US-based short seller Hindenburg Research, including fraudulent transactions and share-price manipulation. The group has dismissed the allegations as false, adding that it complies with all laws and disclosure requirements. All the ten listed firms have lost Rs 12,03,901.43 crore in market valuation since the US short-sellers’ report came out on January 24.
