Mahindra’s much-awaited product Thar 5-door is just a few weeks away from arriving in India. The launch date has been set for August 15, 2024. Ahead of the official, most of the things about the upcoming SUV have been revealed on the internet. In a fresh teaser, the company has finally confirmed a decent-sized panoramic sunroof in the off-roader.
It is the first-in-segment feature, which will be offered in the top models only. The company has kept some of the important details under wrap. Even, the price range is expected to be shared at the launch event only.

As per the details shared by the brand, the upcoming 5-door Thar looks more aggressive than before. It features the same round-shaped highlight setup, which will be transformed into a fully LED setup. The vehicle will come with a lot of cosmetic changes, featuring an updated bumper, a new grill at the front, a tweaked bonnet, a redesigned tail section and improved dimension.
Door Placement
It will have a 5-door, where two levers will be given on the front doors, while two will be mounted on C-pillars, and one for the tailgate. Despite flaunting a lot of updates, the SUV will continue to have the same charm as the ongoing 3-door Thar.
Powertrain
Talking about the powertrain, Thar 5-door will be powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. The former will get 2-litre turbo unit, while the latter will use a robust a 2.2-litre unit.
Expected Price
As far as the price is concerned, the model is expected to hit the market at the starting price of Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base trim.
