Sitara Ghattamaneni said that her father, Mahesh Babu, insists that they spend time together when he’s not busy shooting.
Mahesh Babu’s 12-year-old daughter, Sitara Ghattamaneni, maintains an active social media following and will eventually follow her superstar father’s footsteps to become an actor. In a recent chat, she revealed that she bunks school ‘half the time’ to spend time with Mahesh Babu when he’s not shooting.
“Half the time I bunk school is because of my dad. On days he doesn’t have work…I don’t know how he does it; he persuades my mother (Namrata Shirodkar) to let me not go to school. It’s great and lovely, we have fun together. I watch all his films in theatres, I recently watched Murari when it re-released. Honestly, everyone thinks of my dad as a hero. I feel that way when I watch his films. But at home, he’s just my dad,” she told iDream Media.
Sitara also revealed that she and her brother Gautham want to become actors like their superstar father. “I’m waiting for the time he (Gautham) plays the hero role. He already debuted on-screen (in 1: Nenokkadine) but it was when he was a child. He’s going to NYU (New York University) now and doing a drama course for four years. He’s definitely going to be an actor. I already go to acting classes too. I used to have stage fright a year back, but I’m over it now,” she said.
Although Sitara is yet to make her grand debut, she recently featured in an advertisement for a jewellery brand. Sitara has a public account on Instagram where she often shares glimpses of her life with fans.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu’s nephew is about to make his film debut, as per reports. Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, son of late actor Ramesh Babu and grandson of veteran actor Krishna, is reportedly set to make his debut in the film industry. Jaya Krishna is expected to enter the film world with a Telugu release, as per reports. He has honed his acting skills at a film school in the United States, the reports further state.
