Mahesh Babu on brother Ramesh Babu’s death: ‘If not for you, I would not have been half the man I am today’

The untimely death of actor Mahesh Babu’s elder brother Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu has sent shock waves across the Telugu film industry. Condoling the death of his beloved elder brother, Mahesh Babu, who is currently COVID-19 positive, wrote a heartfelt note on Sunday.

Sharing an old picture of Ramesh Babu on Instagram, Mahesh Babu wrote, “You have been my inspiration. you have been my strength You have been my courage. You have been my everything. If not for you, I would not be half the man I am today. Thank you for everything you have done for me. Now just relax.. relax.. in this life and if I have someone else, you will always be my ‘annaya’ (elder brother). Love you always and forever and ever.”

Actor-producer Ramesh Babu passed away on Saturday due to liver-related ailments. He was 56 years old. Ramesh Babu was the elder son of veteran Telugu superstar Krishna and brother of Mahesh Babu. According to Telangana Today, the late actor was keeping unwell for the past few weeks. He was admitted to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad in an unconscious condition on Saturday evening.

Ramesh Babu made his acting debut in 1974 with ‘Alluri Sitaramaraju’. Later, he shared screen space with both Krishna and Mahesh Babu in various Telugu films. His films include ‘Na Ile Na Swargam’, ‘Anna Chelelu’, ‘Pacha Thoranam’, ‘Mugguru Kodukulu’, ‘Samrat’, ‘Chinni Krishnadu’, ‘Krishna Gari Abbayi’, ‘Bazaar Rowdy’, ‘Kaliyuga Karnudu’. Huh. ‘Black Tiger’, ‘Ayudham’ and ‘Kaliyuga Abhimanyudu’.

The last rites of Ramesh Babu were performed in Hyderabad on Sunday.
