New Delhi: Maha Shivratri will be celebrated across the country on Tuesday, where devotees will observe fast and worship Lord Shiva to get his blessings.
The festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is celebrated on Chaturdashi of the Krishna Paksha of Falgun month. There is a religious belief that on the day of Mahashivaratri, Lord Shiva appears as Jyotirlinga.
The festival holds great significance for Hindus all across the globe and this day marks Lord Shiva’s marital union with Goddess Parvati.
