PalgharTwo persons have been arrested for allegedly stealing coins worth Rs 2 lakh after breaking into a bank in Maharashtra’s Palghar on the intervening night of 29 and 30 December. A police officer gave this information on Sunday.
Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil said the theft took place at the Boisar branch of a nationalized bank to gain access to the strong room by removing the iron grill of a window and breaking the exhaust fan.
“Four bags worth Rs two lakh in Rs 20 coins were stolen. Acting on various leads, the two were arrested from Salwad-Shivajinagar area on Friday. We recovered Rs 1.80 lakh of the looted amount,” he said. Huh.”
