Jalna : Police Maharashtra‘s beed The district on Wednesday nabbed the leader of a gang of robbers, who was on the run for 14 years, an official said.
Police have recovered stolen gold worth Rs 2.24 lakh from accused Sikander Akhtar Sayyed, who has 35 cases of house burglary, theft and dacoity, local crime branch chief Subhash Bhujang Said.
The officer said that Sikandar had formed a gang whose job was to break into the houses by breaking windows.
He said that the accused was absconding for 14 years and kept changing his whereabouts to avoid arrest.
