Maharashtra records 3,063 new Covid-19 cases, 56 deaths Mumbai News – Times of India

Mumbai: Maharashtra A health department official said 3,063 new Covid-19 cases and 56 fresh deaths were recorded on Thursday, taking the number of infections to 65,50,856 and the toll to 1,39,067.
With 3,198 patients being discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, the number of cured cases rose to 63,71,728, the official said.
Maharashtra now has 36,484 active cases.
According to the official, 2,45,427 people are in home quarantine in the state and another 1,423 are in institutional quarantine. He said that the recovery rate from Kovid-19 in Maharashtra is 97.27 percent, while the death rate is 2.12 percent.
The cumulative number of tests conducted in the state rose to 5,87,39,974 after 1,55,155 swab samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the official said.
The rural parts of Ahmednagar district have reported the highest number of 559 new infections in the state. Of the eight regions of Maharashtra, 906 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Mumbai region, 1,004 in Pune, Nashik 677, Kolhapur 303, Latur 89, Aurangabad 57, Nagpur 19 and Akola region eight.
According to the official, out of 56 fresh deaths, 11 are in Mumbai region, 24 in Nashik, nine in Pune, six each in Kolhapur and Latur region.
The other three regions – Aurangabad, Akola and Nagpur – reported no fresh coronavirus-related death, he said.
Mumbai saw 451 new Covid-19 cases and seven deaths, while Pune city reported 211 infections and no deaths, the official said.
