A madrassa teacher has been arrested in Maharashtra’s Thane district for allegedly molesting a teenage girl traveling from Pune to Mumbai in the Singhad Express.

A madrassa teacher was arrested on Thursday for allegedly molesting a teenage girl in an express train, a railway police official in Maharashtra’s Thane district said.

Kalyan Railway Police Senior Inspector Mukesh Dhage said the victim was traveling in the Singhad Express from Pune to Mumbai when the 29-year-old accused, a resident of Bihar’s Sitamarhi, allegedly took her videos and photographs and touched her inappropriately. .

“After she shouted, the co-passengers caught hold of the accused and handed him over to the police. He has been charged under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.”

He said the case has been transferred to the Karjat Railway Police as the incident took place when the train was under the jurisdiction of that police station.
