NAGPUR: Continuing his tirade against rebel MLAs led by chief minister Eknath Shinde, former minister Aditya Thackeray on Saturday questioned whether any one saw ruling party legislators ever protesting on the steps at Vidhan Bhavan.
“These traitors had shamelessly protested against the opposition. The entire country and people from Maharashtra are witnessing their antics. No one is behind them, entire people are with the real Shiv Sena. We had given them everything, still they betrayed us,” he said, while refusing to take queries on the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led by Raj Thackeray, which had started its poll campaign.
Asserting that their Sena led by former CM Uddhav Thackeray will hold annual Dussehra event at Shiv Tirth, the Thackeray scion accused the Shinde government of breaking the old tradition by cheating their party. “Everyone knows which is the real Sena. We have been making continuous efforts to receive the permission to hold our annual event for a long time. However, this government has unleashed its oppressive tactics and are trying to suppress the democratic rights. Look at what they are doing at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), where they are shunting out the officers.”
Accusing the Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis government of taking forward the tradition of traitorship, the Worli MLA said the picture was clear on who was running the show behind Khoke (Means Rs 1 crore as per Mumbai underworld terminology) government. “I am doubtful on how many days this Khoke government will last. This is also a transfer government,” he said while refusing to comment on BJP leader Kirit Somaiyya’s accusations against his party.
Commenting on BJP flaying his party for forging alliance with Sambhaji brigade, Thackeray said Sena had never diverted from their Hindutva ideology and they will take everyone coming to them in their stride. “In two and half years of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, Sena came forward for Maharashtra’s development. On other hand, the traitors are exposed with their misdeeds. No one likes their political drama. It’s the reason we are getting a massive response to our Shiv Sanvad Yatra across the state,” he said.
The former environment minister was in Nagpur to attend the Tana Pola event at Old Subhedar Layout. He was accompanied by Shiv Sena publicity chief and MLC Dushyant Chaturvedi and party leaders from the region. He also visited Nandgaon, where the villagers had lost their farmlands due to fly ash dumping. During the MVA government’s tenure, Thackeray had convened a meeting in June and ordered compensation to the villagers affected by the dumping of flyash. Later he also visited Warada coal washeries on the request of the villagers.
