Maha religious places will open from Thursday: Siddhivinayak Trust of Mumbai released list of rules

After the Maharashtra government revised its COVID-19 guidelines as part of its ‘Break the Chain’ initiative, religious place Permission has been given to open for visitors from Thursday. The civic body in Mumbai has issued an order limiting the number of visitors to places of worship to 50 per cent of the total capacity. Based on this, the famous Siddhivinayak Temple of Mumbai in Dadar has urged the devotees to follow all necessary precautions while visiting.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Adesh Bandekar, chairman of the Siddhivinayak Temple Trust, listed out the measures that the temple authorities are taking to ensure compliance with COVID.

The trust has followed several rules for all the devotees visiting the temple.

  • Entry based on QR code only
  • All physical contact has to be avoided.
  • Children, senior citizens, pregnant women have been requested to avoid coming for physical darshan
  • Offerings will not be allowed.
  • Only 250 devotees will be allowed per hour.
  • Darshan will start from 7 am
  • Strict Covid-19 SOP to be followed
  • The situation will be reviewed after a week to assess whether the darshan will continue

The Uddhav Thackeray-led state government had earlier announced that places of worship would open from October 7, but empowered local authorities, such as collectors and civic chiefs, to set attendance limits at such places based on factors such as size. ventilation etc.
