Maha: Dehu-Pandharpur ‘Palkhi Marg’ Nearing Completion, Says Gadkari After Aerial Survey

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways said the survey was to see first-hand the progress in construction of the route, which included three packages for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg.

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways said that the survey was to see firsthand the progress in the construction of the road, which included three packages for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg.

“The Palkhi Marg is a matter of faith. This is not just a road but an attempt to make a path of devotion. We are designing something that will give relief to the feet of the pilgrims traveling on foot. The route is nearing completion,” he told reporters here.

Dehu, Alandi and Pandharpur are three important places. The central and state governments will jointly develop roadside amenities.”

Gadkari also said that the flyover at Chandni Chowk here would be inaugurated on the occasion of Maharashtra Day on May 1.

The route was becoming a nightmare as an old bridge there collapsed in October last year, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was among those who got stuck while traveling from Mumbai to Satara.

Speaking about the Nawale bridge, the site of a multi-vehicle accident in November last year, Gadkari said speed guns had been installed at the site and a detailed project report of the structure was being prepared.

In November, at least 24 vehicles collided with each other at the Navale bridge on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, injuring over 20 people.
