Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Tuesday that the state government would take legal action against Twitter for its distorted map of India.

He posted on the micro-blogging platform, “On this basis #FIR has been registered in the cyber cell against the management of Twitter India under section 505/2.”

The Madhya Pradesh home minister’s remarks came as Twitter India, earlier on its career page on Monday, got embroiled in a new row over the distorted map of India.

Earlier in the day, an FIR was lodged against Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari and another official of the company in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district over the wrong map of India on its website, which separates Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. countries were shown.

The FIR was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by a Bajrang Dal functionary last evening. Twitter later removed the map on Monday following criticism.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police Cyber ​​Cell on Tuesday registered an FIR against Twitter on a complaint received from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

A case has been registered against Twitter for allegedly displaying child pornographic material on its platform.

This comes amid the ongoing tussle between the central government and Twitter over the new IT rules.
