Madhya Pradesh: Bomb threat at Gwalior station turned out to be false

Gwalior: Officials said the police conducted extensive searches at Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior railway station on Monday after receiving a bomb threat call, which later turned out to be a rumour. The Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs also joined the search, but nothing suspicious was found, he said.

“A person dialed the emergency service number ‘100’ at around 10.30 am, claiming that a bomb had been planted at the railway station,” Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi told PTI.

“Police swung into action and searched all the five platforms. It was a fake call,” he said.

He said that efforts are on to trace the caller.

Manoj Kumar Singh, Public Relations Officer of Jhansi Division of North Central Railway said that rail traffic was not affected by the bomb rumours.

Platform no. He said that for some time while the search operation was going on, platform 1 was diverted towards platform 2 and 3.
