Madhuri Dixit is among the biggest actresses in Bollywood. She has enamoured the masses with her evergreen charm and incredible acting skills. Recently, she has been facing widespread criticism after she collaborated on an event with a Pakistani promoter. According to reports, Madhuri Dixit was collaborating for an event that is being organised by Houston-based Pakistani-origin promoter Rehan Siddiqi, whose name has been blacklisted by the Indian government and has alleged links with the ISI. People on social media have criticised her for showing her support for the event.

According to reports, Madhuri will be collaborating with Rehan Siddiqui for an event that will take place in August 2024, just a day after Independence Day, in Houston, Texas. Criticising the poster for the event, popular columnist and political commentator Sunanda Vashisth has shared her thoughts on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, “Shocked to see @MadhuriDixit collaborate with a Pakistani-origin promoter who has been on the radar of Indian agencies and has been blacklisted by the government of India. Minister @kishanreddybjp as MoS Home had publicly announced that Houston based Pakistani origin promoter, Rehan Siddiqi has been blacklisted and had requested Bollywood celebrities not to work with him.”

In the post, she has also called out Madhuri Dixit for collaborating on an event with someone who is blacklisted and has urged her to call off the event. Apart from that, she has also shared a four-year-old letter from BJP Minister Kishan Reddy, who was the then MoS Home Affairs. The letter states that Rehan has been ‘blacklisted’ by the Indian government. She also added that it is extremely discouraging for India’s security forces and people who serve the nation if someone as renowned as Madhuri Dixit supports such events and people.

Many people came out in support of Sunanda Vashisth and lashed out at Madhuri Dixit in the comment section. One of the users wrote, “Their collaborations are based on the amount transacted rather than the nation’s pride and well-being.”
