Stargazers in India are in for a treat as the date for the last lunar eclipse of the year draws near. This eclipse will happen on November 19 and will be visible only in North-East India for a short time. When the Earth comes between the Sun and the full moon, but the three are not perfectly aligned, a partial lunar eclipse occurs.

According to official figures, there are at least two and a maximum of five lunar eclipses every year. We are going to see the second and last lunar eclipse of this year. According to NASA, this eclipse will take place sometime in the evening depending on the time zone and region.

People of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam can see, but…

However, most of India will not be able to see it. If the weather permits, residents of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam will be able to watch the concluding stages of the event. On Friday, November 19, the lunar eclipse will start at 11:34 am and will end at 05:33 pm. The end of the partial phase will be seen from the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam soon after moonrise.

During a lunar eclipse, the moon darkens and sometimes becomes reddish. Although the Earth’s shadow does not completely cover the Moon during a partial eclipse, partial eclipses are spectacular sights.

“Partial lunar eclipses may not be as spectacular as total lunar eclipses – where the Moon is completely covered in Earth’s shadow – but they do occur more frequently,” NASA said in a report.
