Ludhiana: Official laptop stolen from Income Tax Office | Ludhiana News – Times of India

Ludhiana: In a case of major lapse in security of Income Tax office located at Firozpur Road in Ludhiana district, an unidentified person stole a government laptop.
Police registered an FIR in this regard on Thursday evening. The police suspect the involvement of an insider.
The FIR was registered on the complaint of Inspector Harkesh Meena from the office of the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals Unit).
Importantly, the Appeals Unit maintains data of all taxpayers who have tax disputes, in addition to daily recordings of draft orders and hearings.
In his complaint, Inspector Meena said that the laptop was last used on October 7 but it disappeared on October 11.
A police officer said that adequate security personnel have been deployed in the office and no one can easily enter and gain access to any equipment in that office.
