Shilpa Shetty and her mother Sunanda to be questioned in connection with alleged fraud in the name of wellness center

More trouble is brewing for Shilpa Shetty as the actress has been served a notice by the Lucknow Police in an alleged case of cheating in the name of a wellness centre. According to police officials, Shilpa Shetty runs a fitness chain named IOSIS Wellness Centre. Lucknow Police Commissioner DK Thakur said the company is headed by Shilpa Shetty while her mother Sunanda is the director.
“So we have now given a notice, which was given personally at his residence and he has been asked to explain his side of the story in the matter,” Thakur was quoted as saying by TOI.
It is alleged that Shilpa Shetty and her mother took crores of rupees from two people in the name of opening a branch of the wellness center, but the promise was not fulfilled.
Meanwhile, IOSIS chairperson Kiran Bawa issued a statement on Instagram saying that Shilpa Shetty and her mother Sunanda Shetty have “no relation” with IOSIS. “We parted ways amicably long ago,” Bawa wrote.
“I am addressing this post as a responsible person, being the Chairman of IOSIS Spa & Wellness Pvt Ltd and therefore request people to kindly refrain from posting and sharing this on social media or other such platforms. Verify and confirm the facts first. Ms. Shilpa Shetty and her mother Ms. Sunanda Shetty have no affiliation with IOSIS. We parted ways amicably long back,” read Bawa’s post.
On July 19, Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested in a case related to the production of pornographic films. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police has also recorded Shilpa’s statement in this case. According to the police, Shetty was a director in Kundra’s company for some time.
