Air quality better than last year: LMC
The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) on Wednesday claimed that due to the anti-air pollution measures taken by it, the air quality of the city between October 12 and November 12 this year was better than the same period last year. Municipal Commissioner Ajay Dwivedi said a study of the Air Quality Index (AQI) for the period between October 12 and November 12 in 2020 and 2021 showed that this year the AQI has been lower than last year. This year the AQI has been between moderate or poor, while last year it was mostly in the poor or very poor category. He said, this is because the LMC has installed anti-smog and tractor-mounted sprinklers and mechanical sweeping machines to clean the air and dust the roads. Along with this, people were made aware through the public address system. He said that the anti-pollution campaign would continue in the city.
