When she reached his house, she was forced to do the nikah on the grounds of her real religion. To this the girl refused.

The law was made 13 months ago in Uttar Pradesh
In UP, on February 24, 2021, a law named ‘Uttar Pradesh Vidhi Virudh Dharma Conversion Prohibition Bill 2021’ was implemented against illegal conversions. In this, conversion from one religion to another religion by coercion, coercion, deceit, allurement or marriage is considered illegal. Doing so carries a maximum sentence of 10 years. Along with this, there will also be a fine of 25 thousand rupees. This law was strongly opposed by SP, BSP and Congress. Before UP, a law had been made against it in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, this law is also applicable in Karnataka, Haryana and Gujarat.

First case was registered in Bareilly
The first case of love jihad was registered in Bareilly. This case was registered in Uttar Pradesh only 4 days after it became law. According to DGC Awasthi, a total of 162 cases have been registered in the entire state till July, 2021, but for the first time in any case, the District Judge of Kanpur has given punishment.
