Loud Sound Heard Near Amritsar Golden Temple Could Be ‘Result Of An Explosion’, Says Punjab Police

Amritsar: The Punjab Police said there is a possibility that the loud sound heard near Sri Guru Ram Das Niwas near the Golden Temple in Amritsar in the early hours of Thursday was the result of an explosion. Police said that the sound was heard around 12.15-12.30. Police said the suspects were being rounded up.

Two people have also been detained after the explosion near the Golden Temple in Punjab’s Amritsar late last night – the third in a week.

Police personnel and forensic team members have reached the spot and investigation is underway.



Speaking to reporters, Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh said, “A loud sound was heard around 12.15-12.30. There is a possibility that it could be another explosion.
