Mulugu: At least 15 sheep were killed on Sunday when a speeding lorry ran over a herd at the Gattamma temple on the outskirts of Incherla village. 10 other sheep were injured in the incident.
Sources said Dumpasam Yerappa, a shepherd from Narayanpet (formerly Mahbubnagar district) was taking his flock of sheep on the highway when the truck hit them.
Meanwhile, Kuruma Sangam leaders demanded that Yerappa, who came here in search of livelihood, be compensated for the loss. He also urged the police to ensure justice to Yerappa. Kuruma Sangam District President Narge Raj Kumar and other leaders visited the spot.
