Loose or Tight Jeans: Can Tight Jeans Cause Testicular Cancer? Know what the experts have to say

Tight or skinny jeans look really good with white sneakers and a collared t-shirt and compliment the shape of your legs. However, the alluring look that jeans give you often outweighs the disadvantages of wearing it.

Experts suggest that wearing tight jeans throughout the day can lead to discomfort and health issues. Such jeans restrict the movement of your lower body and put excessive pressure on your legs and other areas.

Tight clothing puts constant pressure on and can injure the nerves and muscles in your legs. With less room for your foot to accommodate within the fabric, tight jeans can cause pain, numbness, and a tingling sensation in the front of your thighs.

Some doctors also believe that men who wear tight jeans throughout the day may also get testicular cancer. According to Guy Toner, a consultant medical oncologist at the Peter McCallum Cancer Center in Victoria, the testicles are at a cooler temperature than other parts of our bodies. The relatively low temperature of the testicles facilitates the production of sperm.

Now, according to experts, wearing tight clothes such as skinny jeans or tight underwear below the waist can increase the temperature of the testicles resulting in low sperm count. This, in turn, can increase the risk of testicular cancer.

However, there is not enough evidence to suggest that there is a direct link between tight genes and testicular cancer. But, even though wearing skinny jeans may not cause cancer, it can cause other health problems.

Tight jeans below the waist can affect blood circulation in your body and make your ankles and feet feel weak. The same applies for curve-hugging shapewear that are often overly tight.

Also, tight jeans do not allow the skin to breathe which results in swelling of the skin. For people suffering from skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema, the condition may get worse as their skin is more sensitive.
