England’s left-arm pacer Tymal Mills is looking forward to bowling alongside India’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League when the two team up for Mumbai Indians. The 29-year-old Mills, a T20 specialist and who has represented England in 12 matches and picked up 11 wickets at a strike rate of 22.7, was bought by the five-time champions for Rs 1.5 crore as a replacement for Trent Boult.

“I got a chance to spend some time with Bumrah during the World Cup. So looking forward to playing with him,” Mills said in a video posted by Mumbai Indians.

“I have wanted to come back for a long time and am happy to have the opportunity,” he said.

Mills, who previously played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2017, will also be reunited with his Southern Braves coach Mahela Jayawardene in the Hundred.

“Looking forward to meeting all my new teammates. Obviously (Mumbai Indians) are a great franchise. I haven’t played at Wankhede before. This is my first time since 2017.”

Mumbai Indians started their 2022 IPL campaign against Delhi Capitals on 27 March. The franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs last season and will be aiming to make a comeback after signing several T20 stars at the IPL mega auction held in Bengaluru last month.
