Looking at a team that got ready’: Mithali Raj on facing Pakistan in ICC Women’s World Cup 2022

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 has begun in New Zealand and fans are excited for the much-awaited match to be played on Sunday. Mithali Raj’s Team India will begin their campaign in a high-voltage face-off against Bismah Maroof-led Pakistan at Mount Maunganui. The game will mark the start of their respective campaigns in the tournament that began on Friday.

“I think as a team we are excited to be in the World Cup and start our campaign from tomorrow. This is the first game, we are not watching it because it is Pakistan we are playing against, we We are looking at a team that has come prepared and we are equally ready to put our best foot forward and we want to set a pace in the tournament, so we look to our first game,” said Mithali Quoting said.

“Every time we play the World Cup, every game is very different – different venues, different conditions, different opponents. We’ve tried to get everyone to go into the practice game, so that everyone’s in rhythm. Come in, they become the main players – and for tomorrow’s game I think they are all looking at the first opening game and everyone has to set their own plans,” he said.

India and Pakistan will face each other in women’s ODIs for the first time since the 2017 World Cup. However, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof said that it will be nothing different from the ordinary.

“We are well prepared and we have had good practice sessions and good practice games and I think we have talked about things we haven’t done well in the last year.
