look | Car stuck in flood underpass in Baghpat, driver climbed on roof to save himself

Baghpat: Incessant rains in the Delhi-NCR region for the past few days have led to waterlogging in many low-lying areas, causing inconvenience to the people.

Residents of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh are having a particularly harrowing experience as waterlogging has made it difficult for them to get out on wet roads and railway underpasses.

A similar sight was seen that a Fortuner car coming out of the railway underpass got stuck in a waterlogged lane in Baghpat.

The video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media and has caught the attention of many, is said to be of Jeevana village under Ramala police station area in Baghpat.

Due to excessive rainfall and lack of proper drainage system, huge amount of rain water got accumulated inside the underpass.

In the viral video, the Fortuner car can be seen stuck in the middle of the underpass. The driver did not know how deep the water was in the underpass and as he was passing by his car started drowning in the water.

The driver somehow managed to avoid the disaster by climbing onto the roof of the car. Later local villagers were called for help and they pulled out the car by tying a rope to the tractor.

The incident comes at a time when the Meteorological Department has predicted widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy rains at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh till August 27.
